K9 Hope is extremely proud to announce one of our newest and fastest growing programs – the Emotional Support Dog program (ESD). The program focuses on pairing individuals and calming rescues to help people who struggle with both mental and some limiting health issues. This program is not meant to provide a fully trained service animal, but rather provide a fur-buddy to help people with emotional stress and social anxiety issues. We try to provide smaller dogs who like to snuggle but also have a very social/open personality. We are currently focused on primarily long haired Dachshund rescues and puppies because of their amazing temperaments and overall personality as a breed. The program has the funding goal of $35,000 for 2018 fiscal year. This level of funding will allow us to provide up to a dozen dogs, basic obedience training, care kits, starter food and up to $500.00 of follow up vet care for our clients. Help us reach our funding goal by going to our ESD ShelterWish page and making a donation to this fast growing program.
